Bengali Sweet Lengcha or Fried Paneer balls

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Milk powder - (i used Amul Powder)

1 cup Cottage cheese Paneer / - (grated)

1/2 cup Heavy cream

1/2 tbsp Baking Powder

4 tbsp Ghee butter / clarified

Cooking oil - for frying For syrup: 2 cups Water

2 cups Sugar

4 Cardamom Green

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Take a large bowl and mix maida, paneer, milk powder and black cardamom (seeds) together.Add heavy cream into the dry mixture and make a soft dough.

2.Meanwhile prepare the sugar syrup. Take a pan and add water, sugar and cardamom seeds and set to boil. Make a sticky syrup till u acquire 1 string while checking with your index finger and thumb.

3.Heat oil in a wok.Meanwhile take the dough and pinch a lemon sized ball and make a cylindrical shape. Following the same method, make more cylindrical shapes from rest of the dough.Fry them in batches till golden in color. Make sure the oil is not too much hot else the lengchas might get burnt.Now add the fried lengchas in the sugar syrup immediately.Allow it to cool.Garnish it with chopped dry fruits like Almonds/Pistachios. and then serve.
